Damian Vasquez, v. Pine Management, Inc., et al. Case No. 16-cv-09714-WHP
On December 16, 2016, Damian Vasquez on behalf of himself, individually, and on behalf of all others similarly-situated, filed a class and collective action lawsuit in United States District Court – Southern District of New York vs Pine Management, Inc. Pine Management is a real estate company that acquires, maintains, and rents out apartments in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The complaint alleges as follows: While employed at Pine Management Mr. Vazquez worked in a variety of roles including maintenance worker, superintendent, and porter and regularly worked between 61.75 and 67.5 hours per week. Despite working far more than 40 hours per week defendants Danial, Tom, and Jason Rohlman failed to pay Mr. Vasquez the federally mandated overtime rate of pay for any hours worked over 40 in violation of the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Defendants also did not allow Mr. Vasquez a regular scheduled and uninterrupted break.
