Background:

Anthony (or Tony) Consiglio is a civil rights lawyer who concentrates his practice on employment discrimination and wage and hour law.  He has litigated cases of discrimination against employees’ race, age, physical and mental disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity.  He has also litigated collective actions of wage and hour violations on behalf of restaurant workers, construction workers, and delivery driver’s helpers, and has assisted with jury trials in police misconduct cases.  Before becoming an attorney, Tony taught English in New York and Connecticut high schools.  He is a classical music lover, an avid reader, and an early-morning long-distance runner.  He lives in Manhattan with his husband, an artist and native of Berlin, Germany.

Tony’s previous clients include a nursing mother denied a private room to express breast milk; pregnant women coincidentally “selected” for termination months before their babies were due; employees living with a chronic illness who were coincidentally “selected” for termination as soon as an accommodation for the disability was needed; adjunct professors who were suddenly non-renewed after decades of service; women and men sexually harassed by their supervisors and colleagues; female servers “dropped” when their restaurant “upgraded” to a more maître-d’-like “look”; a state court judge removed from the judicial bench when colleagues complained about the effects of her disabilities; transgender and non-binary employees harassed for their gender expression and then fired; and immigrants with long-ago criminal convictions targeted for deportation after they have rehabilitated their lives.

Tony joined Borrelli & Associates in July 2023.
