$215,000.00 – Sex Discrimination & Retaliation

January 2025

Firm represented a female staff member against her former company for sex discrimination and retaliation, collectively in violation of Title VII, the New York State Human Rights Law and the New York City Human Rights Law. Plaintiff alleged that defendant discriminated against her due to her sex by subjecting her to a hostile work environment and then retaliated against her for complaining about that discrimination by terminating her employment, all in violation of the aforementioned statutes.  After sending a letter of demand and engaging in pre-litigation mediation, the case concluded in a settlement in the amount of $215,000.00.  Sharan R. Abraham and Michael J. Borrelli handled the matter for the Firm.
