Betty Moncion v. Paris Maintenance & Management Co. Inc., et al. Case No. 16-cv-07142

New Collective Action filed in the Eastern District of New York
Betty Moncion v. Paris Maintenance & Management Co. Inc., et al. Case No. 16-cv-07142

On December 28, 2016, Betty Moncion on behalf of herself, individually, and on behalf of all others similarly-situated, filed a class and collective action lawsuit in United States District Court – Eastern District of New York vs Paris Maintenance & Management Co. Inc. as well as Charles Loiodice and Ardo Alvarez. The complaint alleges as follows: Defendants, a maintenance company, hired Ms. Moncion to clean the bathrooms of bank locations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. She routinely worked 39 hours per week but was only paid a flat rate of $189.00 per week. This amounts to less than $5.00 per hour, far below the federally mandated minimum wage per the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law’s minimum wage provision. Additionally the defendants failed to provide both scheduled, uninterrupted breaks and regular wage statements to Ms. Moncion as required by the New York Labor Law.
