New Collective Action filed vs. Istanbul Turkish Grill, Inc., et al.
Thierno Mohamed Balde v. Istanbul Turkish Grill, Inc., Masis Prigian and Ahmet Guldeste, Case No. 14-cv-1393

On November 11, 2014, Lead Plaintiff Thierno Mohamed Balde on behalf of himself and those similarly situated filed a class and collective action lawsuit in United States District Court – Northern District of New York vs. Istanbul Turkish Grill, Inc., Masis Prigian and Ahmet Guldeste. Mr. Balde worked for Defendants as a line cook from June 2014 through October 2014. He alleges that he worked sixty hours per week through his employment. However, Defendants failed to pay Mr. Balde the proper minimum wage, at any rate of pay or the proper overtime compensation at the statutorily-required overtime rate of pay for any hour that she worked per week over forty hours per week as the New York Labor Law, New York Compensation Codes Rules and Regulations, and the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act require. In addition, Defendants failed to furnish Mr. Balde with accurate wage statements on each payday as required by the New York Labor Law.
